Out of the hospital and into the Trial

Chris was released on Tuesday afternoon from the hospital.

His bone marrow appears to be on holiday: white counts undetectable, while red and platelets are likely only the result of transfusions every 2-3 days.  He got transfusions on Tuesday and Thursday and is scheduled to go in for more tomorrow.

Tomorrow's additions will be critical.  We fly to Philly on Monday and on Tuesday Chris needs to present himself to the primary physician in good form to qualify for the study.  Because it is a trial, folks can be excluded if they are deemed too frail to withstand the rigors of the treatment because that might skew the results. So, I am a little bit on edge, awaiting their decision.

On a much brighter note, Chris had a big day today of some shopping and then attending a Memorial Weekend party.  He gets tired fast when trying to walk or exert himself, but otherwise seems rather fine.  Thankfully, his confusion is gone and he is back to himself.

This is an exercise in patience with uncertainty.
