Stuck

When my employer decided that our only choices for healthcare would be versions of a "captured" plan, they made us all buy into an insurance plan that is extremely small and which has few contracts with outside providers. Essentially, the only providers recognized are those within the IU Health system. UPenn has no idea what to do with this and IU Health is acting defensive, wanting lots of preauthorizations so that they protect their bottom dollar.

The result: we can't go to UPenn for truly urgent care because the people who are pushing paper around can't figure out how to (or if to) make this happen.

I am trying to understand things that I know nothing about and trying to find who is relevant and have them talk to each other.

Nothing but dead ends so far.

And each day, I watch Chris get sicker.
