Home is where the heart is

I liberated Chris from his imprisonment this afternoon. Boy, was he happy to be able to walk out of the constraints of the hospital. He even showed me that he could stand up and move about without the raging alarm that had become his bane. He danced a little jig.

Back home, Chris supervised Alex's lawncare efforts and tinkered with our malfunctioning grill. I made arugula pesto the way he likes it from our own crop and we just chatted the evening away, reviewing our shared memories and finding comfort in our restored threesome.

When one side of a triangle has gone missing for a bit, it's reappearance feels like a world has been made whole.

We will meet with the oncologist in the next day or so to understand more about what is happening with Chris's leukemia. There may be new information that we will need to absorb.
