We're going back. When is still a question, but the study reopened yesterday.
Because Chris received some chemo over the weekend, there will be a bit of a delay to wait for that to clear because they need to do the hours-long apheresis to get T cells all over again. I'm not sure why and I'm not happy about it, either. I was told it may be 3-4 weeks before they can collect them again.
Next would come the 4 weeks wait while they manufacture the "smart bomb" T cells, following which, we would go back to infuse them and stay for 6 weeks.
Chris's oncologist here at Simon Cancer Center believes that there is still a window of opportunity to get this all accomplished. Today, he said he was personally "bird dogging" them. What a guy.
So, in the past week, we have gone from being completely unsettled by a turn for the worse, hospitalization, and little information to Chris feeling much better and a plan that has promise.
